This passion project began in 2018, when a coworker introduced me to a true crime comedy podcast she thought I might like. Fast forward to spring of 2020, by which point I had become an established fan of Wine & Crime. With newfound free time on my hands due to the combination of a pandemic and company-wide furloughs, I began doodling some speculative designs featuring some of my favorite lines from the show.

 

I eventually polished them up enough to send to the email address listed on their website. Then, within moments of hitting 'send,' the news broke that George Floyd had been murdered in Minneapolis, which happens to be where Wine & Crime is headquartered. I was convinced that the very progressive women running the show would be tied up for the foreseeable future with activism, both in-person and via their show, and decided not to get my hopes up about any potential collaboration.

 

So, you can imagine my surprise when a couple months later I received a response from one of the show's hosts inviting me to officially collaborate with them on a sticker pack! Ultimately we landed on a set of seven stickers featuring their brand colors, complemented by a beautiful goldenrod and plum, and enough inside jokes to satiate their hungry fans.
